The latest addition to the Muscle Or Performance family is this real 1968 Charger RT, Hemi, 4 speed. With only 39k original miles, this car is in amazing shape and is one of the most original cars we have had. The body has never been apart, still wears its original sheet metal (except for the center of the trunk) and has never been wrecked or damaged. We know this cars history since new and it has had a pretty nice life. Sold new in Sarasota, this car was one of two identical blue Hemi Chargers ordered by the dealership. It has lived its whole life in the Bradenton, Lakeland area spending most of the time racing at Bradenton Motorsports park. According to the second owner (owned since around 1970) the car won 6 championships throughout the late 70’s and 80’s racing in the 11:50 bracket class. He went on to mention that he stored the car inside, never drove it in the rain or bad weather, only taking it out to race. Around 1990 a friend bought it, had it repainted, rebuilt the engine and after a short drive around the block, parked the Charger in the corner of his garage. Fast forward to the fall of 2022 when we received a call that we could purchase the Hemi Charger. After quite a bit of work to get the Charger out of its resting spot, it saw the light of day for the first time in 30 years and was on its way home to Muscle Or Performance Auto Restoration. We had to finish the restoration that was started years ago. Nothing major, just a lot of small details that needed to be finished – weather stripping, door bumpers, detailing suspension and undercarriage, correct steering wheel, a small wiring short under the hood and bringing that sleeping Hemi back to life. We are happy to say that the engine runs great, the car drives great and is one of the most solid, factory original cars we have had here.
