This R4 Red 4 speed Daytona was sold new at Capital Dodge and lived a hard life. Wrecked in 1974, it looks like it ran off the road into a ditch where the front right suffered primary damage. After hitting the ditch, the car spun to the right and contacted a pole in the right quarter panel, just rear of the passenger door. Suffering this much damage sent this poor Daytona right to the scrap yard where the engine, transmission, seats and wheels were immediately stripped.

Saved by David Patik and stored away for the next 40 years, this red Daytona has actually lived with the F6 green Daytona most of it’s life. The two Daytona’s have indeed lived together since the mid 70’s, now residing at Muscle or Performance Auto Restoration together. Thankfully, David collected enough NOS sheet metal and small parts to restore this car. It will be a while before we put this one on the frame rack, but when we do, everyone can tune in and watch her get pulled back into shape.
